  I stayed in room 17 in what I hope was not the new section... it seemed I was in a randomly severed room of some sort of abandoned school or prison... bedroom window overlooks communal hallway through wire-re-enforced security glass... other window overlooks abandoned parkinglot... windows grubby, inside and out... wall paper peeling... random amateur carpentry everywhere... extremely poor fit and finish... very little hot water, no pressure... tap of shower installed backwards so no pressure with hot water is possible... room is cold... has a thermostat, but no heaters... aux electric heater in room, but more ornamental than able to heat the room... this particular room is a 'double', which means there's another bed in another room almost the same size as the main one, but without television... picture a run down live in / long term rental unit in Scarborough and then wonder why its in the middle of Iron Bridge, and why someone bothered to re-cover it in pink vinyl wallpaper left over from the 80s...

  Owns a similarly run motel in Manitouwadge... had friends stay there with the same experiences...

  Very pleasant and accommodating owners! Room was very clean and fairly roomy. Looks like they have recently updated the motel (and are in the process updating a wing that wasn't open.). Restaurant has simple meals that are priced fairly... nothing fancy. Certainly one of the better northern Ontario motels!

  I have stayed there a couple of times nice rooms, clean rooms and roomy the price is the only thing I would complain about they are in a small village where you would expect lower prices

  Updated and cozy. While restaurant's menu is limited the food is decent and satisfying. Not licensed for beer/wine/spirits. Rooms are up-to-date and do not smell of smoke. Clean and musty - free. Conveniently located on Hwy 17, next to LCBO. Priced right for area and accommodations.

  PROS: Has electricity. Well lit parking-lot. Wallpaper attached well in some places. Has an iron in the room. Has parking. Full Scarborough experience, including transport trucks parked out front idling!

  Owner is condescending... I feel I have to write something about this, because if it wasn't 12:30 at night, I would have continued on after being treated like that... after deciding he didn't want my dog in his grubby, cold little room, he repeated 4 times in a 5 minute conversation that there was 'no smoking in room'... I get it - you think I'm a lowlife because I smoke... you have every right to feel that way... but its unprofessional. I will remember to tell my friends!
